Crew boats can be split into three different categories; Crew boats, Patrol boats and FSIVs (Fast Support Intervention Vessels). Crew boats are used in offshore projects, helping transport deck cargo, below deck cargo (portable water and fuel) and support personnel to different offshore installations such as oil platforms, wind farms, drilling rigs and drill or dive vessels. Patrol boats consist of Pilot and Service boats. Pilot boats transfer Pilots onto larger vessels. FSIVs are used to transfer cargoes and because of their ability to power through the water at high speed, they respond to emergencies close to them when needed.
